Outline of career

Jas qualified as a Social Worker in 1996 from Oxford Brookes University. He began his career as a Social Worker in adult services and progressed to managing a multi-disciplinary health and social care team. On a voluntary and professional level he gained extensive experience in adult community care having worked with disabilities, mental health, older people and young adults.

Jas joined Anglia Ruskin University as a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader in Social Work in 2012. Previous to that he was Programme Lead and Senior Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University. Jas has significant experience as a Lecturer and Practice Educator for Social Work Students. He has also worked for the General Social Care Council, been a training officer for Bexley Council and was previously a Trustee for a disability charity.
