Undergraduate Public Health

The Public Health team has also developed a broad range of public health programmes, for public health support staff in a variety of health related settings and disciplines, working both in the UK and internationally.

An undergraduate version of the community nursing course, BSc Specialist Community Public Health Nursing, is a one year full-time (2 years part-time) programme which operates half in academic study and half in practice. A module on nationally recognised Nurse Prescribing qualifications is included within the programme. This pathway is only available to students with appropriate NMC qualifications at diploma level. Please contact Yvonne Crome or Sarah Kraszewski for further details.

Two undergraduate programmes are available for those who do not require undergraduate NMC recognised qualifications. The awards are designed to cover the needs of international students, non-professional students and nurse diplomats seeking a degree in public health. The BSc (Hons) Public Health provides a 3 year undergraduate award (6 years part time) and is designed for international and non-professional students interested in working in public health roles. (International students with insufficient academic credit can enter for the last year for entry into the MSc Public Health or similar postgraduate award).
