What is Clinical Physiology?
Clinical Physiologists belong to a group called Health Care Scientists. Clinical physiologists collect and analyse data from patients and are also involved in the maintenance and calibration of such equipment.
The BSc Clinical Physiology course is a four year pre-registration programme for Sport Science graduates. It leads to registration with the appropriate professional body and the award of a BSc (Hons) by Anglia Ruskin University. The registering professional body depends upon the speciality that students have chosen, being either, Respiratory Physiology, Cardiac Physiology with a further specialisation in Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology or Radiotherapy.
Students are employees of a variety of NHS Trusts, and are seconded to complete the course. The course is considered part-time as students are on day release to attend lectures and classes and are undertaking full-time activity by working within clinical departments and completing practice competencies.
