Anglia Ruskin's Celebrity Steinway Inaugural Concert
Martin Jones, one of Britain's most highly regarded pianists, performed in the Music Recital Hall on the evening of 8 January, in the inaugural concert of the Department of Music and Performing Arts' new Steinway grand piano.
The concert, played to a full and enthusiastic audience of friends, staff and benefactors, consisted of the music of the highly imaginative Australian composer, Percy Grainger.
The 9 foot Steinway Concert Grand Model D was purchased thanks to the generosity of friends of Anglia Ruskin University who made donations over a number of years towards the enhancement of arts provision on the Cambridge Campus. The Department of Music and Performing Arts is indebted to all those who made this possible, and to the Vice Chancellor for so enthusiastically supporting this worthy acquisition.
