Opera production has a long and distinguished history at Anglia Ruskin University, spanning some 50 years. The operas are staged in the University's Mumford Theatre, drawing on both student and professional musicians and singers. Four fully-staged performances are usually given within a week in May with full orchestra, soloists and chorus. Over the years the productions have become more ambitious and are now presented in a biennial cycle.

The operas afford all music students the opportunity to experience the real-life challenges of working within a large team and performing to the public on the stage. Whether you are involved as a singer, a member of the orchestra, a stage manager, a costume designer or as part of the publicity team, the opera productions will provide an unforgettable experience during your time at Anglia Ruskin University.
