Music Therapy and Dramatherapy with Children in Educational and other Settings is one of the first conferences to bring together music therapists and dramatherapists interested in working with children.

In addition to the conference programme there will be an opportunity to socialise at a buffet dinner on Friday 30 November with musical and dramatic performances by Anglia Ruskin Students.

We are hoping that this conference will provide an opportunity for debate and exchange between students, newly qualified therapists and experienced clinicians and researchers, as well as other professionals who may have an interest in either music therapy or dramatherapy. The conference will include invited keynote speakers, oral presentations, workshops and round tables.

In addition to our keynote speakers and respondents, we have received around 60 proposals for papers and workshops on a wide range of topics relevant to this conference.

Proposals have come from all over the world (including Finland, Malta, Greece, Italy, Hong Kong, Thailand, India and Australia) and across the whole of the UK. We have had proposals from some renowned and experienced music therapists such as Mercedes Pavlicevic and Katrina McFerran and dramatherapists such as Anne Dix and Deborah Haythorne. There are some exciting joint proposals by music therapists and dramatherapists, and several fascinating sounding workshops.

The conference promises to be interesting and thought-provoking. It will be the first conference in the UK to specifically combine music therapy and dramatherapy, so there should be new and ground breaking discussions and debate, which may influence future clinical work.

The conference will be located in the brand new lecture rooms at Anglia Ruskin University, in the beautiful city of Cambridge.

People who have attended Anglia Ruskin Music Therapy Conferences in the past will remember the friendly atmosphere generated by student performances at the buffet supper on Friday evening. This time there will be a mixture of drama and music entertainment, so there's even more to look forward to!
