Rob Home's research on land rights presented at international conference
Professor Rob Home of Anglia Law School recently gave an invited paper to an international conference on 'The Social Economy: Corporate Responsibility, Private Property and Partnerships, Workers' Rights and Co-operatives'. The conference, held in Onati (Spain) from 6-8 July 2011, was organized by the Onati International Institute for the Sociology of Law, in association with the Mondragon Corporation, (a federation of worker co-operatives established in 1956, now the seventh largest Spanish company in terms of turn-over and the leading business group in the Basque Country).
Rob's paper was entitled 'The role of new kinship, social and economic networks around land rights in Africa', and follows on from his work last year in Kisumu (the Kenyan ancestral home of Barack Obama) with a diaspora development volunteer pilot project, funded by UKAid and VSO. The paper was presented in a panel on 'Networks of Trust', and is expected to contribute as a publication towards the Law School REF submission in 2013.
