Law School Professor contributes to Government project
Professor Rob Home has recently contributed an evidence review to the Government Foresight Land Use project, whose final report was launched at a special event in the Royal Society headquarters in Carlton House Terrace, London, in February 2010.
This project, initiated by the Government Office for Science, took 'a broad and overarching look at the future of UK land use over the next 50 years', arguing for a more strategic approach. Rob's report, on 'Land ownership in the UK: Trends, preferences and future challenges', was published in the journal Land Use Policy, and discussed at the launch event. Professor Mark Tewdwr-Jones, Professor of Spatial Planning and Governance at UCL and one of the lead expert group, was a plenary speaker on the project at the Planning Research Conference held in the Michael Ashcroft Building in April.
