Eversheds prepares Anglia Ruskin students for a life in the law
Eversheds has been preparing students in Cambridge for the business and legal world through Anglia Ruskin University's mentoring scheme. The firm joined the likes of mobile phone giant Motorola to teach their protégés how to fly the nest.
Eversheds' real estate partner David Roberts took a number of students under his wing to help them fulfil their aspirations. He helped them put together action plans to enable them to reach the goals and targets they set themselves.
In one case Roberts taught a solicitor-hopeful interview techniques, helped shape his CV and even managed to get to other Eversheds lawyers to listen to a presentation by the student as preparation for the real thing. An Eversheds spokeswoman said the structure of the mentoring scheme changes as it is tailored to the individual.
"The mentoring scheme is specific to only Cambridge, but we do have national schemes such as 'Your Day in Court,' to teach students about litigation, and the 'Big Deal,' where students work on a deal with our lawyers," she added.

This partnership was a result of Anglia Ruskin University's mentoring scheme, which is designed to help develop the employability skills of second year students by broadening their experience. Students from a variety of courses are matched with a local employer who will help them develop personal skills. By working in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University you can increase the level of business awareness amongst local students.
