Bespoke Law course for TWI and Marshall Aerospace

Dr Tom Mortimer (sixth from left) and delegates in the Contract Management Course
A bespoke course, designed and produced for two major external industry leaders, was delivered recently. TWI is one of the world's foremost research and technology organisations, while Marshall Aerospace is one of Europe's leading aerospace companies.

This new initiative has been carried out by Anglia law School with their recently formed consultancy in Professional and Legal Education, which is being driven by Dr Tom Mortimer and Graham Humby as part of business engagement and income generation through participating in the wider community.

Tom has advised and lectured on contract management to a large number of publications in this field. Graham has recently joined Anglia Law School, with a background as Senior Partner of a national law firm based in London and Principal of his own firm. He has wide experience of business generation and private-sector governance.

The eight sessions adopted a practical, integrated and applied approach to the process of contract management. Delegates identified issues within their specific work environment, which were used to consider and assess the application of the legal principles underpinning these matters. The learning outcomes were focused on knowledge and understanding of why the law adopts the approach it does to the contracting environment and how this could be managed by TWI and Marshall Aerospace to their competitive advantage.
