Why Anglia Law School?
National Client Interviewing Competition
Anglia Ruskin's law students won the National Client Interviewing Competition for three years in a row, also setting a record for Welsh and English Universities of six wins in total. The team followed this up with an excellent performance at the International competition in Las Vegas, where they finished in joint second-place with Russia.
Anglia Law School's Mentoring Scheme
The mentoring scheme was established to create links between legal practitioners and Anglia Ruskin law students. The legal profession has become increasingly competitive and students need to develop skills in order to manage their own careers and to be effective in the workplace. We have a number of experienced local solicitors and barristers offering support and guidance to the students they are mentoring.
The scheme has been of enormous value to our students as it offers them an insight into the challenges of practice as a lawyer and allows for the development of networks of contacts within the legal profession. This in turn helps to increase employability at a time when competition for pupillages and training contracts has intensified.

City Solicitors' Education Trust Summer Schools
Our students have had notable success in winning places on the City Solicitors' Educational Trust (CSET) Summer Schools. These are run by a group of the City's leading law firms and are designed to identify and encourage university students from a diverse range of backgrounds to follow a career in the law.
Talented students from non-Russell Group Universities are offered an intensive one week skills programme which builds students' knowledge, skills and confidence, and also providing opportunities to meet representatives from leading law firms.
Citizens Advice Bureau
We have an ongoing partnership with the local Citizens Advice Bureau, which provides free independent legal advice to the community. This offers a number of our law students the opportunity to train as advisors with the Bureau. Our students are able to have their legal knowledge and skills enhanced by the experience of offering advice in a front-line situation whilst keeping in touch with the needs of the local community. This has proved to be an invaluable experience increasing employability and inter-personal skills.
