Our competitions

Every year, many of our students are awarded a prize for their outstanding achievements, generously donated by legal institutions and solicitors firms around the region.

Below is a list of the prizes that were on offer in 2009/10:

Legal Practice Course (Cambridge)

  • Cambridge and District Law Society Prize for the best overall performance in the compulsory subjects
  • Cambridge and West Suffolk Resolution Prize for the student with the best mark in the Family Law elective
  • Ewart Price Prize for the student who demonstrated the most commitment and professionalism on the part-time Legal Practice Course

  • Mid-Essex Law Society Client Interviewing Prize presented to the winners of the internal Client Interviewing Competition
  • Mid-Essex Law Society Prize for the student with the best overall average on the Legal Practice Course
  • Sweet & Maxwell LPC Prize for the student with the best mark in the PCFSMA on the Legal Practice Course
  • Jefferies Prize for outstanding achievement in Litigation and Advocacy
  • Attwaters Prize for Probate Transactional Competition

  • Acheson Award for Endeavour for the LLB student who has striven the most to improve academically
  • Gadsby Wicks Prize for the best performance on the LLB Law of Tort module
  • Hill & Abbott Family Law Prizes for the most outstanding students on the LLB Family Law and Child Law modules
  • M&G Prize for the most outstanding contribution to the life of the Law School at Chelmsford
  • Osborne Morris & Morgan Prize for the most outstanding academic performance in LLB Year 3
  • Routledge-Cavendish Award for the most outstanding academic performance in LLB Year 1
  • Sweet & Maxwell LLB Prize for most outstanding academic performance in LLB Year 2

Anglia Ruskin University also offers the Anglia Trust Foundation Scholarship, which enables students to spend a period of time outside the UK in order to undertake a study visit in connection with their chosen courses.
