Nikki Herson graduated from Peterborough Regional College in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Archaeology and Landscape History and went on to receive an MSc in Osteoarchaeology from Bournemouth University in 2008. Since early 2008 she has worked as a lecturer in Forensic Archaeology on the Access to Higher Education course at Peterborough Regional College and assisted in lecturing science modules in the A Level Archaeology course.
Nikki has a keen interest in continuing her MSc dissertation research into the history of disease and trauma in the Royal Navy, and also has research interests in the history of crime and punishment. She has experience of both archaeological excavations and tourism from her work at Flag Fen, Peterborough Museum and on archaeological excavations at Spalding, St. Neots and Winchester.
