Louise's main teaching areas are in intellectual history, in particular the history of political thought and history of philosophy. She teaches undergraduate modules and leads seminars on European intellectual history and 18th and 19th Century British history.
Louise's main research interests are in the history of political thought, particularly the impact of the Aquinian synthesis of Aristotle on subsequent British political theory. She is currently researching the political thought of Edmund Burke.
