Dr Michael Wilby's research activity
Dr Mike Wilby has worked at Anglia Ruskin since 2009, having completed his PhD at York in 2008. His primary research interests are in the Philosophy of Mind, with particular interests in social cognition and the understanding of other minds. He has published on topics relating to intersubjectivity, social ontology, developmental psychology and intentionality. His essay 'The Simplicity of Mutual Knowledge' won the 2010 Philosophical Explorations Essay Prize. He is currently working on the role that perception plays in understanding others, and the role that social cognition plays with regards to mental health.
Mike teaches a variety of topics, including Introduction to Philosophy, Rationalism, Philosophy of Mind, Concepts of Good and Evil, The Varieties of Scepticism and Rights and Responsibilities.
