Politics and Social Sciences

There is a small but lively postgraduate group of students studying applied social sciences at Anglia Ruskin. Some of these complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Social and Political Research either as part of their PhD training or as a qualification in its own right. Recent PhD students have researched areas as diverse as change in the UK's NHS, land rights in Canada, diversity in the UK fire service and the politics of the 'gift relationship' in Taiwan.

We would like to hear from PhD candidates with a demonstrable record of independent academic work at the highest level. In particular we welcome applications in the area of analysing public services, diversity in public services and building cultural capital. Students will be expected to participate in training and preparation during their first year.
