Benoit Massin from Belgium will be speaking about Jan Patocka, a writer from Prague who, although not widely known here, is called the 'Socrates of Prague'. Patocka has been concerned with questions of freedom and responsibility, ethics, justice and community; the search for an authentic life and the role that culture, and particularly literature, plays in this search.
