Anglia Ruskin University hosts first Criminal Justice Summit
On 1 February 2012, Anglia Ruskin University hosted the first Criminal Justice Summit, organised jointly by the Employability and Careers Service and Emma Brett from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Over 40 students attended the session to hear a range of speakers talk about their own career paths, current recruitment patterns in their sector and how to make a successful application. Speakers included Helen Carter, Deputy Governor of HMPS Littlehey, Christine Goff from the Probation Service, Chris Smith from Cambridgeshire Police and Shawn Grady, an ALSS postgraduate student and Special Constable.
Kate Baker from the Employability and Careers service said: "This was a highly successful event which enabled the students to gain a first-hand perspective on careers in the world of criminal justice. The opportunity to ask questions directly to individuals currently employed in their field of interest was invaluable. We aim to be running many more of these summits in the future!"
