A New Departure in GCSE History
2012 sees the Better History Forum launching its project to produce a new type of GCSE course.
'Twentieth Century Histories' is based on the latest research into the acquisition of knowledge and the development of narrative to help students get a much fuller and better understanding of the twentieth century.
We will be working with IT developers, teachers and university historians to create a course that helps students acquire the extensive subject knowledge that is essential to proper historical understanding.
We will also be exploring ways of using online historical source material and using it in context, so we can finally turn our backs on the formulaic source exercises students and teachers have suffered for so long.
If you would like to get involved please email Teisha Buick.
