Sarah is a writer, filmmaker and educationalist devising and delivering the following Level 1, 2 and 3 modules with the department of English, Communication Film And Media: Visualization, Research and Storyboarding, Creative Practice in Film, Script to Screen, Digital Imaging, Video Documentary.

Sarah's research interests are practiced-based and broadly centre around narrative making in film and fiction. Earlier in 2009 Sarah was awarded a grant from the National Lottery through Arts Council England to support two projects engaged in exploring aspects of interconnectivity between traditional creative arts and social technologies. Sarah is particularly interested in the relationships between representations of self in social networking sites through writing and the visual, and in particular, the specific roles that ideas about fiction, reality and affect play within this context.

The first of these projects is being developed through the new writing mentoring scheme Gold Dust. User is a novel that tells the story of two young women, one living and one dead, as they search to decide what's real and who's pretending in uncertain lives lived between online and offline worlds. The participatory online art project Digitize Me will be launched in 2010 and explores the way we present ourselves online through social networking sites. The project explores profile making as a form of identity production and draws ideas addressed in recent scholarship in this field into a publicly engaged practice context.
