John White currently teaches undergraduate media, film and writing modules.

He is co-editor of Fifty Key British Films (Routledge, 2008) and Fifty Key American Films (Routledge, 2009), contributing a series of essays to these books. With Sarah Barrow (Lincoln) and Sabine Haenni (Cornell) he is co-editor of The Routledge Encyclopaedia of Films (forthcoming 2013).

He is the author of Westerns (Routledge, 2011) and co-author of textbooks for both AS and A2 Film Studies that are shortly to go into third editions. He previously worked for almost ten years as a journalist.
