Judy Forshaw teaches Introduction to Screenwriting, the Feature Film and Adaptation. She also supervises undergraduate dissertations/ feature length screenplays.

Judy came to the department in 2000, having taught screenwriting at the London Film School and UEA. She started out as a freelance film editor and was a reader for Rank before specializing in writing at the NFTS. She has worked for many years writing for television - EastEnders, Grange Hill and Byker Grove etc.

In 2007 she was one of the winners of the Impress Prize for Fiction. She has received an Arts Council Grant in 2010 to complete a novel.

In 2011 working with CoDE and the UK Film Council she made a short film Opening the Gate, on the subject of Digital Innovation in Distribution.

She is currently working on another film titled Distribution and the Guerilla Filmmaker.

Judy is keen to supervise undergraduate dissertations and full length screenplays.
