Research clusters
The Department of English, Communication, Film and Media has an extremely strong and varied research culture, and has produced many influential books, journal articles and scholarly editions, as well as creative works in film, video, journalism, web design, fiction and poetry
In addition to running regular, extremely well attended research seminars, the department is a key contributor to the university's many interdisciplinary research clusters, such as the Cultures of the Digital Economy Research Institute (CoDE). Through the support of such networks, academic staff regularly host conferences and colloquia and participate in a wide variety of local, national and international research activities. During the RAE 2008, we also housed the European Studies Unit.
