An event featuring Anglia Ruskin Lecturers in Film and Media Dr Tina Kendall and Dr Tanya Horeck has proved extremely popular - selling out over a month before it is due to take place.
Lars von Trier and the New Extremism at the British Film Institute's Southbank centre on 30 May will explore the work of the Danish filmmaker as 'part of a broader impulse toward transgressive, often violent and controversial imagery and themes within contemporary European cinema.'
Dr Horeck and Dr Kendall, who edited of the book The New Extremism of Cinema, will be joined by Dr Nikolaj Lubecker (University of Oxford) and Carolin Bainbridge (University of Roehampton, and author of The Cinema of Lars von Trier).
