Research Fellow Dr Alison Searle has just published her first monograph, The Eyes of Your Heart: Literary and Theological Trajectories of Imagining Biblically.

In this, she develops a theory of imagination that explores the contributions Scripture can make to new ways of thinking about creativity, reading, interpretation and criticism. The biblical text locates 'imagination' in the heart ('the eyes of the heart', Eph 1:18). The author explores current theological understandings of the 'imagination' and their implications within the field of literary studies.
