Prominent author praises Anglia Ruskin tutor's work

Miranda Doyle, a Creative Writing tutor from Anglia Ruskin, has won high praise from Scottish author Irvine Welsh for her compelling story 'Autopsy', featured on BBC Radio Scotland's 'Days Like This'. Miranda's own reading of her story was broadcast on the show on Wednesday 28th January 2009. In his comments on 'Autopsy', Irvine Welsh (author of 'Trainspotting' and 'Filth') said:

"I love this story by Miranda, in fact it's possibly my favourite one of the collection. It takes us into this strange macabre zone on the edge of her human experience and it reports back from it in a very unflinching and unsentimental way. There's something about this very unique point of view and voice that Miranda has that seems to me to be a true writer's voice. It's a very courageous and very dynamic voice as well, and I find it a very interesting story."

Miranda studied English at Anglia Ruskin before going on to gain an MA in Creative Writing at Goldsmith's College. She teaches first year English and Writing students on the module Introduction to Imaginative Writing, and third year English, Writing and Philosophy students on the module Autobiography: Self, Narrative and Truth.
