Publishing students form major new industry society
The Cambridge publishing community is changing. The new MA in Publishing at Anglia Ruskin University, run by Dr Samantha Rayner, is rapidly establishing itself as a hotbed of exploration into the industry, and its students are already pushing themselves to become a key part of the network with the establishment of an industry society.
Cambridge University Press, which has been closely involved with the construction of the MA, has now generously enabled students to found CAMPUS, the Cambridge Publishing Society. Events in the pipeline vary from audiences with prominent guest speakers to quizzes and international nights. Anyone can become a member of the society, paying a nominal annual fee of £15.00 to join, or £10.00 for concessions. Corporate tariffs are also available.
The launch will take place on 3 March, 18.30 - 21.30, in The Pitt Building, Cambridge, where industry professionals and students will enjoy a reception with wine and nibbles and a formal debate on the changing role of the editor. Everyone can come along and become a member at the door for a 20% discount on the first year's subscription.
