Anglia Ruskin Reader awarded Honorary Mention in Young Scholar competition
Dr Jussi Parikka's Digital Contagions - A Media Archaeology of Computer Viruses has been awarded an Honorary Mention in the competition for the ICOHTEC (International Committee for the History of Technology) Publication Prize for Young Scholar 2009.
Digital Contagions, published by Peter Lang, is based on his PhD thesis from 2007. Parikka's book is the first ever written on the cultural history and media theory of computer viruses, and addresses the contemporary and historical contexts of this specific form of software.
In 2008 it was selected as book of the month July 2008 for the Resource Center for Cyberculture Studies online portal.
