'The Lifesavers' by Fraser Grace
Fraser Grace's new play, 'The Lifesavers', has just opened at Theatre 503 in London. It runs until 21 February, before transferring to the Mercury Theatre, Colchester, from 24 February until 7 March.
Plunging us into a frighteningly paranoid parallel world, the play explores what happens when a society pursues the goal of a perfect society to its logical conclusion. In an era of atrocity, the play asks simply, how should we live? Directed by Paul Robinson for Theatre 503 in association with the Mercury Theatre, Colchester, the cast includes Keith Bartlett, Gina Isaac, Laurence Mitchell, Ed Hughes and Rupert Simonian.
Fraser is the author of several plays including 'Breakfast with Mugabe' (2005). He also writes short fiction and his first collection 'Wrestling Angels' was supported by the New Writing Partnership Escalator scheme in 2007.
Fraser teaches Writing Drama to Year 2 Writing and Drama students at Anglia Ruskin, and work by students on this module has been featured in the Hotbed new writing festival.
