Two Cambridge School of Art graduates shortlisted for Waterstones 'Picture This' prize

Elys Dolan and Matt Robertson are among the seven shortlisted entrants for the prestigious Picture This award, Waterstones bookshop's annual search for new talent in children's book illustration.

Elys Dolan has just completed the MA Children's Book Illustration course and was also second prize winner in this year's MacMillan Prize for Children's Book Illustration. Matt Robertson graduated from the BA (Hons) Illustration course a few years ago and is about to commence studies on the MA as a part-time student.

This year's competition asked entrants to produce sample illustrations for a new version of Beauty and the Beast by best-selling children's author and former Children's Laureate, Michael Morpurgo. The shortlisted artists must now take their work to completion to challenge for a £6000 contract to illustrate the book, which will be published by Harper Collins.
