New partnership created between arts and business
Arts & Business, an organisation that sparks new partnerships between commerce and culture, has successfully brokered a new relationship between the Ruskin Gallery and Marshall Aerospace in Cambridge. This new deal helps to augment a programme that features artists from around the region.
Marshall Aerospace sponsored the recent Josef Albers Screenprints exhibition, and is also sponsoring the forthcoming Ruskin Summer Exhibition, Blue Sky (25 July - 29 August), that will celebrate the quality and diversity of 13 contemporary regional artists.
As part of this new relationship, Marshall Aerospace will also provide the opportunity for works by 12 students from the Cambridge School of Art to be hung in their new Business Aviation Centre at Cambridge Airport. The selection of works will be made from this year's degree show.
Speaking about the link, Christopher Garibaldi, Regional Manager for Arts & Business, said: "Our research across the region and nationally shows that companies are still willing to support interesting and imaginative arts sponsorship projects, in spite of the downturn in the economy, because they recognise that, in many cases, sponsorship drives business. This is an example of an ideal sponsorship, in the sense that funding from Marshall Aerospace will support the exhibition programme and provide vital support for regional artists, but perhaps more importantly some of Cambridge School of Art's students will be able to see their work exhibited at the Business Aviation Centre - underlining Marshall's commitment to supporting the best in emerging artistic talent locally, and providing a stimulating visual aspect to this prestigious new facility."
We have also secured a second sponsorship for the Ruskin Gallery involving Tindalls art and graphics suppliers. Tindalls is also the official sponsor of the Cambridge School of Art Degree Show 2009.
