CSA graduate named YCN 'Student of the Year'

We are delighted to announce that Cambridge School of Art BA (Hons) Illustration graduate Dominic McKenzie has been named as the winner of YCN's prestigious 'Student of the Year' award for 2011.

This hugely important national competition, held by creative organisation YCN, featured briefs from a variety of household name clients including 20th Century Fox, Sega and Marks & Spencer. Dominic's submission concentrated on the brief set by The Open University, which asked students to increase the institution's appeal to a 16-18 year old market.

In the wake of his fantastic achievement, Dominic told us:

"My student of the year of award from YCN was unexpected but a complete vindication of the hard work I've put in during my three years at Cambridge School of Art and the level of support I have received from the staff and other students on the Illustration course at the school. I sincerely believe that I wouldn't have received the level of success I have at any other art school."

Alex Ostrwoski, Design Partner at YCN, added:

"Dominic's playful, but pragmatic and conceptually brave approach to the brief really stood out. He has a bright future ahead of him, and YCN is already planning to work with him on some new visual ventures."

Many congratulations on your success, Dominic. We will follow your future career with interest.
