Chris Mizen, 2nd year Graphic Design student with the Cambridge School of Art, has been shortlisted for the Puffin Children's Prize in this year's Penguin Design Awards. Last year's award was won by another Cambridge School of Art student, Jurate Laugalyte.

Chris said of his shortlisting:
"I think that studying Graphic Design at the Cambridge School of Art has really helped me to improve as a designer, and being shortlisted for such a high profile award like this has proved that. The Graphic Design course here is known for its typographic expertise, and it is that expertise being passed down from the lecturers that gave me the confidence to create a typographic design to enter into the competition. It came as a bit of a shock when I found out that I had been shortlisted for the final of the competition, but I think that it is testament to the Cambridge School of Art, and in particular the Graphic Design course that there has been finalists from Anglia Ruskin in both the 2010 and 2011 Penguin Books Student Design Award."

We would like to congratulate Chris for his achievement so far, and wish him luck in the final stages of the competition.
