Professor Martin Salisbury speaks at Bologna Children's Book Fair

Professor Martin Salisbury of Cambridge School of Art's Centre for Children's Book Studies was one of four keynote speakers at an international conference on digital publishing for children, which formed the opening event of this year's Bologna Children's Book Fair. 'Tools for Change in Publishing' was a one-day sell-out conference attended by 300 or so publishers and creatives from around the world, looking at issues around publishing children's picturebooks for Ipad and Iphone.

At the fair itself, the children's publishing industry was busy networking and selling international co-editions. As usual students on Anglia Ruskin's MA Children's Book Illustration course visited the four-day fair, many arranging portfolio meetings with publishers. Plenty of last year's graduates' work was on show including Nadia Shireen's next picture book with Random House, Hey Presto.
