What are your English language entry requirements?

For Undergraduate courses this is usually IELTS 6.0 or equivalent or IELTS 5.5 where your course of study includes an English language module (available for all our Undergraduate Courses).

I don't know what my IELTS score is. How do I find out?

You need to take an IELTS test, or other English language test, for which there is a charge. There are many IELTS testing centre world-wide and Anglia Ruskin University is one of the largest in the UK. During the summer months the International Office offers free English language testing to overseas applicants to help finalise your admission quickly when it is not possible to take the standard IELTS test. What if my English language isn't good enough?

If you don't have the necessary English language qualification when you apply it may include a condition that you must obtain the required qualification before you can start your course.

Anglia Ruskin University's Language Services Unit offers 5-week, 10-week and full-year, general and specialist English language and IELTS preparation courses. For more information visit the Language Services Unit website.

Cambridge Ruskin International College (CRIC), based on our Cambridge Campus, provides International foundation and preparatory programmes for students who are not quite yet ready for undergraduate or postgraduate study. Successful completion of a foundation course gives automatic entry to Year 1 of an Anglia Ruskin Course.

How many international students do you have?

We have 1000 international students from 100 countries studying across both our campuses. Anglia Ruskin University has a thriving international community as does Cambridge as a whole. As well as activities centred around the International Office and an International Facebook community you may find that there are clubs and societies arranged and run by students from you own country, for example the Thai Students Society or the Afro-Caribbean Society.
