Prof Terry Mughan is Professor of International Management at the Lord Ashcroft International Business School with wide experience of teaching in higher education in the UK and Europe at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His areas of expertise are international business growth, intercultural communication in international business, SME internationalisation and management consulting skills.
At Anglia Ruskin University, Prof Mughan has led the development of modules and courses in intercultural communication and management and has taught these courses to students of many nationalities in education and business. He has been Visiting Lecturer/Professor at the Universities of Jyvaskyla, Linz, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand and Cambridge and is currently External Examiner at the University of Sheffield and for the Berufsakademien of Baden-Wuertemberg in Germany.
Prof Mughan's research is interdisciplinary and spans the fields of management, linguistics and intercultural communication. He has carried out large empirical studies for UK Trade and Investment, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and the East of England Development Agency. A particular strength is the incorporation of personal and interpersonal skills inquiry in business internationalisation studies. Prof Mughan was the Founding President of SIETAR UK, the leading world professional society for interculturalists, a post he occupied for three years.
