Jill Baldwin is a Senior Lecturer in Work Based Learning. Prior to moving into Higher Education, she had significant experience in various Training & Development Management roles for a UK High Street Bank, taking her all over the country.

Jill has taught Human Resource Management, Careers Management and Study Skills across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and is now primarily involved in Work Based Learning programmes and employability modules.

She is the Pathway Leader for the Foundation Degree Management (Work Based) and the BA Management (Work Based) which she has taken from initial concepts to recruiting pathways, specifically dedicated to raising Higher Level Skills in the UK workforce. Therefore, she is regularly working with employers to bring about both individual and organisational development.

Jill also has responsibility for the placement opportunities for Chelmsford based undergraduate students, and supports students in identifying appropriate opportunities, through application and during their placement. This also brings Jill close to employers and their graduate recruitment, which she is passionate about utilising in her teaching to raise aspirations and employability.

Jill is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development, and the Higher Education Academy. She completed her MA in HRM, focusing her dissertation on Social Learning and Work Based Learners. Her research interests lie in Work Based Learning, Learning & Development, Employability Skills, Reflective Learning and the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning.
