Dr Sally Everett is Deputy Dean (Quality and Student Experience) at Lord Ashcroft International Business School (LAIBS).
Prior joining LAIBS, Sally was Head of the Department of Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality within the Business School at the University of Bedfordshire. Sally has also held the posts of Head of the Division of Tourism and Leisure and Head of Tourism, Leisure and Sport Management with the Faculty of Education and Sport at the same university.
Before moving to Bedfordshire, Sally led a number of research projects in tourism and transport research at the University of the West of England, Bristol where she also completed her PhD (and MA) in tourism management. Sally has also worked (2003-2007) as the Development Officer for a major heritage attraction; the ss Great Britain in Bristol and has developed and delivered online management courses for Pearson Education plc, London.
Her research interests include social and cultural tourism geographies, critical tourism discourses, rural tourism development and visitor management and heritage interpretation. However, Sally's passion has to be food and drink tourism.
Sally's recent research projects include; an Esmée Fairbairn Foundation grant for 'Developing food tourism: Delivering social, cultural and environmental sustainable development in rural regions and communities', a grant to develop a tourism marketing strategy for Bedfordshire and Luton, and an EPSRC-funded project on sustainable transport innovations.
Sally is currently writing a book for SAGE Publications on Food and Drink Tourism and has given a number of keynote speeches to industry conferences about how food tourism can be used to regenerate regions.
Sally is also the current Treasurer and an Executive Committee member of the Leisure Studies Association.
