Dr Amr Kotb joined the Lord Ashcroft International Business School at Anglia Ruskin University in September 2012. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting from the University of Aberdeen Business School in 2009. Before joining Anglia Ruskin University, Amr worked at the universities of Middlesex, Coventry, Aberdeen (UK), and Cairo (Egypt). He is also an Honorary Research Fellow at University of Aberdeen Business School and he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Amr's primary research interests are in the impact and utilization of technological developments in accounting practice, the profession, and higher education. His research interests also include forensic accounting, corporate social responsibility, and corporate governance. Amr's work has been presented in a number of national and international conferences such as BAFA, EAA and AAA, and published in high quality ABS ranked journals such as 'Critical Perspectives on Accounting', 'International Journal of Auditing', and 'Accounting Education: An International Journal'. Amr is currently working with the Higher Education Academy on a funded research project (£156,429) to investigate the recent technological developments in accounting curricula in UK universities.
