David Flude is a Lecturer in Leadership and Strategy at the Lord Ashcroft International Business School, Chelmsford campus. David's career to date has largely been based in and around the field of engineering and has included working within both the Private and Public Sectors. He has spent much of his professional working life at Senior Management level in both of these challenging and ideological opposing environments. As such, David considers that he brings with him to this role a unique and diverse range of skills and knowledge which have been acquired and developed from a practical business/management discipline and an academic perspective.

Prior to joining Anglia Ruskin University, David had spent the previous 12 years as a Senior Police Staff Manager in what was a challenging, demanding but very rewarding role. David has always had a great interest in research and academic development and it was during this time that he completed an Honours degree in Business Management and also an MBA. An element of the MBA involved an overseas marketing module which allowed David to undertake consultancy work in a large marketing company based in Boston, Massachusetts.

The resultant impact of undertaking both degrees was mutually beneficial. From a business perspective, from the research findings, David was able to develop and implement new, effective and efficient business practices and apply them directly within the work place.

Having thoroughly enjoyed participating in and completing his MBA, David wished to continue his academic and professional development. As such, he applied to the Bramshill Police College to undertake further research on behalf of the Police Service. After entering a selection process, David was awarded, by the National Policing Improvement Agency, a Bramshill PhD research Fellowship.

The research Fellowship was awarded in order to conduct research into a topical emerging Police related subject. Back in 2007, the developing macro-political and socio-cultural environment suggested that the strategic direction for the Police Service was to undertake collaborative working across traditional geographical boundaries. As such, David's chosen area of research interest is Organisational Cultural Modification in Collaborative Ventures, particularly the effects of transcultural relativism in collaborative organisational subgroups.
