Anna Egan is a senior lecturer and the course group leader within the department of Accounting, Finance and Information Management at the Lord Ashcroft International Business School. As course group leader she is interested in the development of competitive and academically rigorous courses that will benefit students within the department. She teaches various accounting and financial management modules, as well as providing support to undergraduate dissertation students in the form of a research methods module.

Anna holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Management which was awarded by Dublin Institute of Technology. She was awarded a research bursary by DIT in 2007 to examine the impact that SOX regulations had on Irish companies listed on the NYSE. Anna is currently in the final stages of completion of her doctoral research, which should be submitted in late 2013. This research focuses on boards of directors of Irish commercial state-owned organisations. In particular, this research is utilizing social identity theory as a lens through which to explore the decision making tendencies of board members.

Anna has previously presented research on boards of directors in a number of international conferences and is currently working towards the publication of these papers in peer reviewed journals.
