Dr John Webb

John has been closely associated with Anglia Ruskin University for over 25 years. For 10 years he managed the successful CIPFA course where his students regularly won national prizes. More recently he has held the role of professional courses leader where he developed a suite of courses to support those seeking awards directly related to their chosen careers. John also held the post of director of studies responsible for the
enforcement of our academic regulations on our Chelmsford campus along with our regional and international partnerships.

In January 2011 John became the academic head of department for our Chelmsford campus and in March 2012 was asked to lead the Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Management. John has taught a range of accounting topics and held the position of examiner or assessor for a number of professional accounting bodies. In the last 10 years John has been external examiner to a range of UK universities. John is a tax and public service specialist with a particular research interest in taxation
paradigms and their impact upon tax policies.

John has a number of peer reviewed papers in the area of tax attitudes and in 2009 published his conceptual taxation push pull perception model, launching this initially at a major international conference in India.
John is particularly proud to be a founding editor of the Journal of Finance and Management in Public Services and he passionately believes in the vision of the journal to support and develop new and upcoming researchers. In 2012 John successfully sought sponsorship for Anglia Ruskin students to attend the journal's annual conference. In addition to his experience of supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students, John supervises five doctoral research projects.

As head of department, John is responsible for the delivery of Anglia Ruskin courses at our international partnerships, with the largest centre being in Trinidad where we have around 1,800 students.
