Arrival, Welcome and International Orientation - September 2013
To welcome our new international students, the International Student Advice Service team organises orientation programmes in September and January on our Cambridge and Chelmsford campuses. We aim to include all the essential elements you need to make a successful start to your new life at our University. In addition, we provide an airport pick-up from Heathrow airport so that you can attend the International Orientation Programme. Full details and an online booking form for the Heathrow pick up can be found on our Meet & Greet page.
When should I arrive?
If you will be studying on our Cambridge and Chelmsford campus you should arrive in time to attend the International Orientation Programme starting on Thursday 19 September.
Students studying in Peterborough in October and will receive arrival information separately from our International Admissions Office.

International and EU Orientation Programme: 19-20 September 2013
You should make your travel arrangements so that you arrive in time to attend our International and EU Orientation Programme starting at 10:00 on Thursday 19 September 2013. We recommend that you arrive in the UK on Wednesday 18 September. Please visit our Meet and Greet pages and read our Welcome Guide for further information on how to travel to our campuses.The International and EU Orientation Programme is an essential part of your introduction to our University for all international students (EU and non EU) so you should make every effort to attend. There will be information sessions on:
- Studying in the UK
- Sport and social facilities
- Working and health entitlements
- Opening a UK bank account
- Food and Shopping
- UK culture and customs
- Finding a part-time job
- Travel and Transport
There will also be campus and city/town tours plus a number of social events so that you can meet other students and your tutors. To reserve a place you must book online. Once you have booked online, you will receive a confirmation of your booking by email. The confirmation email is your proof that you have booked your place on the orientation programme.

You should arrive in the UK on 18 September in time to attend your Orientation Programme starting at 14:00 (subject to change) on 19 September 2013. Do not book online. Our Study Abroad Co-ordinator (Salvatore Genoveisi) will contact you directly.
