Match programme

As a MCCU squad member you can expect about 30 days of strong, competitive cricket. We compete in the MCC Universities Championship playing two-day matches against the other five MCCU centres (with the final between the two top teams taking place at Lord's) and also play in the BUSA League (one-day 50 over matches).
Most important, however, are the three first-class matches we play against the counties. This gives you the opportunity to play against some of the top national and international players and the experience of playing on some of the country's premier grounds.
It also gives you the opportunity to put yourself in the "shop window" and enables counties to have a good look at you in a match situation. Some of our students have gone on to gain contracts after playing well against the county teams.
You may also have the opportunity to play against international touring sides. BUSA selects top players, from all six MCCUs, to play in international matches. In 2005, two Anglia Ruskin students and one Cambridge University student, were chosen to represent BUSA against the Bangladesh touring side.
