Anglia Ruskin University is committed to support and promote Fairtrade and was awarded Fairtrade University Status on 26th February 2007 in recognition of our achievements.
To become a Fairtrade University five goals must be met by the University and the Student Union:

- The creation of a Fairtrade policy
- Introduction of a steering committee to oversee the policy
- The sale of Fairtrade foods in all shops, restaurants and bars on campus
- Serve Fairtrade foods at meetings hosted by the University and Students' Union
- Promote Fairtrade across the campus
