CB1 is our largest of halls of residence and is in a central Cambridge location.

The bedrooms

CB1 will have 511 en-suite rooms, divided into 3 accommodation blocks - named Aston, Bragg and Crick after Nobel prize winners. 112 of the rooms are self-contained studio apartments, with their own kitchenette, shower and toilet.

  • Phone - there are no telephone points

The kitchens

If you live in a standard room, you will share a kitchen/living area between 3-10 students. In the kitchen/living room, you will have a lounge and bar stools to relax on. There is a fridge, freezer, microwave and cooker. It does not include a kettle or toaster.

In the studio apartments, you will have your own kitchenette in the room.

The building

Alongside your accommodation, the CB1 development will have a range of other new buildings, including shops, restaurants, bars and homes - offering a great lifestyle. CB1 is in central Cambridge, close to the railway station and a short walk from Cambridge Leisure Park with cinema, bowling, gym, bars and restaurants.

As the CB1 development is brand new, it will include some areas where buildings are being constructed.

Your new home will be 15 minutes walk from campus, with its open access computer areas, wireless Internet spaces and library.

Support and services

  • Staff - will be available on-call 24 hours a day
  • Security - CCTV
  • Adapted rooms - adapted rooms are available for students with medical needs
  • Cleaning in common areas - the stairs and corridors will be cleaned. You will need to clean your own bedroom, bathroom and the kitchen

Occupancy agreements

  • Academic year occupancy agreements run for 42 weeks from early mid September 2013 until early July 2014
  • Rent for 2013/14 is £119.37 per week for a standard en-suite room. Studio apartments are £133.38 to £159.89 per week, with the majority costing £151.64. Rent includes bills to a generous threshold
  • Your agreement will be with CRM Limited, who will also be your contact for any maintenance. Apply through Anglia Ruskin
  • For this property CRM Limited charge a non-refundable admin fee of £150. This covers the contract fee, reference checks and application processing fee
