Hospital accommodation in Peterborough

This accommodation site is available if you are studying nursing, midwifery or operating department practice with the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education. It is managed by the Peterborough and Stamford NHS Trust.

The bedrooms

  • Furniture - single bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, wash hand basin, desk and chair.
  • Bathroom - you will have your own sink in your room. 2 showers, 1 bath and 2 toilets are shared between 10-12 students.
  • Bed linen is provided, but as it is very basic, you might want to bring your own.

The building

  • Kitchen - you will share a kitchen between 5 or 6 students on your corridor. Kitchens include a fridge and cooker. Cooking utensils (eg plates, saucepans) are not provided.

The location and transport

The hospital is a short bus trip away.

Peterborough city centre and train station are only 10 minutes walk from your accommodation.

There are good bus and train links to nearby towns and cities such as Wisbech, Stamford, London, Leicester and Birmingham.

Bicycle racks are available. Car parking is also available at an extra cost. You would need to arrange a parking permit through the Peterborough and Stamford NHS Trust.

Alternatively there is a free car park at Thorpe Meadows which is a 10 minute walk away.

Occupancy agreement

  • The 2013/14 rent is approximately £288.09 per month
  • Council tax, electricity, heating and water rates are included in the rent
  • The building has no internet or telephone facilities
  • Wireless internet is available at Guild House
  • The rent is paid at beginning of each month
  • The deposit is £50, and you will need to pay two months rent in advance
  • The occupancy agreement is with the Peterborough and Stamford NHS Trust.

Application

Apply via Anglia Ruskin, using the NHS application form. Submit your application by post, email or fax - details are on the form.

You will be offered accommodation for one academic year and normally it is for your first year only. Priority is given to students whose home is geographically distant.
