Life Sciences - Biomedical and Molecular Sciences

Our Department prides itself on producing highly qualified graduates, whose knowledge and experience meet the current needs of the industry. Our courses are highly valued by industry and a number are recognised by professional bodies including the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and the Health Professions Council (HPC).

Our Department has very strong links with industry, and our courses are written in liaison with colleagues from local and national companies to ensure that our graduates have the relevant knowledge and experience to succeed in their career aspirations. We also use these links to connect our students with local employers on a regular basis.

Our team regularly run Employability and Skills Workshops for students, where the following skills and experience are in focus:
  • Independent and team working;
  • personal statement writing;
  • specialist techniques for research and clinical jobs;
  • mock interviews
  • professional behaviour in the workplace
