Nursing and Midwifery

Final year student

Child Nursing

Thank you for seeing me earlier, you really helped. I will definitely come back for further support when I (hopefully) get an interview for this job.

Anglia Ruskin works in partnership with eight NHS Health Care Trusts across Cambridgeshire and Essex and you will be linked to one of these Trusts to undertake your practice placement throughout the duration of the course.

By completing your nursing degree here you will be entering a registered graduate profession with the potential for future career opportunities at local, regional, national and international levels

Midwifery is a fast-changing area of healthcare and our course will equip you with the skills and abilities to practice not only as a competent midwife, but also to continue to develop and keep pace in an evolving environment.

Following an in depth review by the NMC - we are delighted to confirm that we have received very positive feedback relating to the standards of Pre Registration Nursing and Non Medical Prescribing courses within the University in partnership with NHS Trusts.

We aim to increase the commercial awareness and employability of our students by organising workshops, talks from local NHS Trusts, mock interview sessions, recruitment fairs, offering assistance with job applications - personal statements, CV review etc and liaising with employers regarding job opportunities and feedback.

Twice a year in June and December we hold nursing recruitment fairs. These are tremendously popular and well-attended events. It is a fantastic opportunity for final year students to meet with potential employers.

Pre-entry guidance

For those considering entering higher education, choosing between the many different courses can be challenging. If you are a college leaver, returning to study, or even if you have not been in education since school, our Careers Guidance Advisers can help you think through your options and find the right path for you.
