Employability support for International students

Our Employability Service is here to help you negotiate the job market and make the most appropriate choices at all stages in your career. We hold an extensive online information library, where in-depth advice and guidance can be easily accessed.

Faculty specific Employability Advisers can help you look at ways of building your experience to give you the best chance of getting the job you want. They can also help you identify occupational areas for further research, as well as giving advice on application and interview techniques.

You can develop your presentation skills in mock interviews, practice skills tests and take part in our employability clinics, talks, visits and short courses:

  • Help build an effective CV for The UK market
  • English classes to improve oral and written communication skills
  • Careers guidance on specific professions including entry guidance and deadlines
  • Advice on personal statements, application procedures, interview techniques and career management
  • Business English language courses
  • Work experience opportunities to help empower your CV for your future
  • Tours of local and national businesses
  • Drop in sessions for general queries and help with English
  • Jobs, recruitment and careers fairs
We can also help you find opportunities to gain temporary paid employment around your studies through our Employment Bureau.
